We learned so much about red cardinals! Here are a few facts...

  1. Boy Red Cardinals are red, while girls are often brown with red on their faces.

  2. The average lifespan of a red cardinal is 3 years but have been known to live as long as 15 years in captivity.

  3. Red Cardinals make open nests for their babies and the females build the nests.

  4. Red Cardinals are very protective over their "home territory".

  5. The female red cardinal will build the nest and take care of the babies when they are very young and then when the babies are older the male red cardinal will feed those babies while the female will make a new nest and feed the new babies.

  6. Cardinals are the mascot for two sports teams.

This episode is twice as long as our first episode, and Alex also made a cool coloring page!
